Have an Absolute Marxist Christmas!

Complete with all your Capitalist Ho, Ho, HO's!

Marx Was Santa Claus

I´m ready for this day
I´m so ready for this day
Cause I´m believe in christmas
Always cry in christmas
Though I hate The Jesus Church
And I hate the mother earth
But I love the people
and I love the workers
But I cannot understand your touch
I´m an old romantic red guy
Thousand strives to buy their own gifts
and nobody is by my side
I´m crying for a long time
I´m crying on christmas´ day.

(Chorus)
Marx was a Santa Claus
And bring my gift to me
Marx was a Santa Claus
fell the white beard on his face
Marx Was a Santa Claus
to poor and rich he always came
Marx Was a Santa Claus
the young and old are just the same
city lights are glooming and my heart won´t give up
I´m crying for a long time
I´m crying on christmas´ day.

I´m ready for this day
I´m so ready for this day
Cause I´m believe in christmas
Always cry in christmas
In front of the looking glass
with this clothes completely red
and I´m putting this cap
My left arm is dying
I´m dying for a long time
I´m dying on christmas day

(Chorus)
Marx was a Santa Claus
And bring my gift to me
Marx was a Santa Claus
fell the white beard on his face
Marx Was a Santa Claus
to poor and rich he always came
Marx Was a Santa Claus
the young and old are just the same
Marx Was Santa Claus
And he worked for workers 4 x

Not Quite Absolute Marxist Movies

...My divided experience of simultaneously watching what I see on the screen and imagining the reactions of the lost audience creates a particular kind of nostalgia that is unique to moving images from another era.

The cultural theorist Slavoj Zizek calls such a divided experience “nostalgic fascination.” Using the genre of film noir to detail his analysis, he asserts that contemporary audiences cannot take the dramatic scenes of film noir seriously. “What we really see when we watch a film noir, is this gaze of the other: we are fascinated by the gaze of the mythic ‘naïve’ spectator,” he argues, “the one who was ‘still able to take it seriously,’ in other words, the one who ‘believes in it’ for us, in place of us.” Asserting that our relation to film noir is always divided between fascination and distance, Zizek believes that the distance we feel from the film is, in effect, what draws us to it; the inability to be absorbed by the film’s narrative is the very condition that creates its allure. We are drawn to the gaze of the original audiences—the lost audience who could identify with such a film without irony or sentimentality. The assertion that earlier viewers of film noir necessarily took the films seriously and that present-day viewers cannot is questionable; however, the idea that we experience “double vision” when we watch a historic film is helpful for understanding part of the experience of watching Woodsmen and River Drivers. Constructs of earlier spectators juggled with contemporary perceptions may help to shape the archival film viewing experience. It is as if we watch such a historic film in a room crowded with ghosts. We necessarily watch images of the past through the lens of the present, but our perceptions are haunted by those earlier spectators, the ones whose vision were not encumbered by the phantom audiences that came before them.

FREE Pussy!

Pussy Riot on "Like a Red Prison" tour occupying oil objects in Russia

Activists at the petrol station

We came to the essence of why our friends are in cages while Putin and his friends are not.

The "Like a Red Prison" performance was the first time when we escaped the borders of Moscow and went on tour occupying oil facilities all over our country.

Sechin poured over with oil

The last year's oil and gas fiscal revenue was around 200 billion dollars, but only Putin and a some of his friends saw these 200 billion. This is why we decided to inspect oil extraction industry ourselves and sing our new song about the red prison to the oil and gas workers.

Night pump with fire

Some lines of the "Like a Red Prison" lyrics were written by Nadja Tolokno in the Mordovian prison, so you have to learn it by heart with special accuracy. However, we write our lyrics all together in our big band, so let police investigators not break their necks!

With sledge hammer
Bastrykin's being poured over
At the oil cars
At the super-pipe
Here is the "Like a Red Prison" lyrics (for group singing when capturing oil objects):
Gruel-Propaganda, Gruel-Propagandaaaa!

The country has hardly mastered
Mechanized labor.
More and more often when I'm working hard —
I am rude — don't know if it's appropriate.

Local activists flow down the pipeline,
Filling it with life and calling for destruction!
Federal Penitentiary Service, Interior Ministry, Emergency Situations Ministry, and Rosnano,
LUKoil, TNK, Rosneft, and Gazprom,

Gruel-Propaganda, Gruel-Propagandaaaa!

Get registration,
Evildoers at the oil towers,
Oil on the tables,
Sechin with crocodiles,
Like in a red prison.

Bathe the worker in the Norwegian fjord,
Cut off your penis like the Depardieu character,
You have a president like IranвАЩs ayatollah,
And your church is like it is in the U.A.E.
So, let everything be like it is in Qatar,
Evildoers at the oil towers,
Pumping till its dry,
A physics university teaches theology,
Epaulettes and oil wells,
Navalny in jail,
Hugo Chavez lives,
Like in a red prison.

Evil fucking sexist, leave the hole alone!

Homophobic vermin, out from history!

Don't fuck with her pussycat,
She spends oil on something else.
In the Mordovian days' quiet,
She makes salads and sometimes eats them.

In keeping with best traditions of feminist political punk, each occupation of an oil facility, like some oil pump in a distant region of Russia, started with a breakthrough.

Before the breakthrough the Pussy Riot members carrying punk-feminist flags, musical instruments and equipment hid in the heath waiting until the security guard patrol (like the Rosneft one) went away far enough to allow for the successful occupation of the oil pump.

After occupying the pump a special portrait was immediately put on it. For example, a portrait of the head of Investigation Committee of Russia, Colonel General Bastrykin, known to the Pussy Riot activists for his liking to sign orders of arrest for our friends dissatisfied with the fact that nobody besides Putin feels these 200 billion oil dollars.

After hanging out the portrait they put feminists flags waving above the pump: all friends of Mr. Putin as well as Mr. Putin himself are evil fucking sexists (as one of our song's lines says) who believe that the state and power is built upon oppression of women, LGBTQI communities, atheists and other social groups. Shortly after that they started playing punk rock.

When some stupid pipe was on the way of a breakthrough, the bravest of us, Grelka, took her sledge-hammer and running in front of this feminists' breakthrough crushed the obstacle.

After occupying the 14th oil pump in a third Russian region in a row we took some rest because we got an urgent telegram from the Mordovian prison #14. Tolokno was writing to us!

Having read the Tolokno's telegram, we rushed to occupy even more important oil objects with increased power — as Marx taught us and as Tolokno wrote us, the fight for the values starts with fighting for the economical basis.

Hints of Not Quite Absolute Marxism from Russia

(Chorus)

St. Maria, Virgin, Drive away Putin
Drive away! Drive away Putin!
(end chorus)

Black robe, golden epaulettes
All parishioners are crawling and bowing
The ghost of freedom is in heaven
Gay pride sent to Siberia in chains

The head of the KGB is their chief saint
Leads protesters to prison under escort
In order not to offend the Holy
Women have to give birth and to love

Holy shit, shit, Lord's shit!
Holy shit, shit, Lord's shit!

(Chorus)
St. Maria, Virgin, become a feminist
Become a feminist, Become a feminist
(end chorus)

Church praises the rotten dictators
The cross-bearer procession of black limousines
In school you are going to meet with a teacher-preacher
Go to class - bring him money!

Patriarch Gundyaev believes in Putin
Bitch, you better believed in God
Belt of the Virgin is no substitute for mass-meetings
In protest of our Ever-Virgin Mary!

(Chorus)
St. Maria, Virgin, Drive away Putin
Drive away! Drive away Putin!
(end chorus)
